About Pinnacle

1996 - 2000
  • Nina Vaca founds Pinnacle Technical Resources and begins doing business from her Dallas living room. The business starts as an IT services provider specializing in systems integration/architecture with a focus on Sun & Veritas products.
  • Year-after-year, Pinnacle continues to grow at a steady pace, adding Fortune 500 and other blue chip companies to its client roster.
2001
  • After the 9/11 Tragedy in 2001, the IT industry suffers a severe blow. Facing clinet cut backs, Ms. Vaca realizes that her old business model is no longer in demand in the marketplace and re-invents the business. Companies are now asking for per-project type work instead of ongoing contracts, so that’s what Pinnacle begins to offer.
  • In no time the new concept takes off and, after landing large companies like Verizon and AT&T as clients, the company’s revenue soar.

"You have to know what your customers need, get it to them on time, and at the best price."   Nina Vaca

2002
  • Pinnacle enters the IT solutions sector and also develops its sourcing business to support the solutions business.
  • Others clients in financial services, health care, and consumer products soon sign on with Pinnacle.
2003
  • In early 2003, the company introduces its own Web-based software, ProgataTM, which streamlines internal operations and communications between IT managers, sourcing managers, third-party staffing providers and candidates.
  • In 2003, Pinnacle reports $10 million in revenues.
2004
  • The company triples revenues to over $30 million.
  • Coming out of an industry recession, Pinnacle develops a different line of business, its “statement of work” line, which offers fixed prices for clearly defined deliverables.

‘The way you grow is you provide value for your clients. Make certain you have a service or product that is going to be of value to them. If you lose your focus and aren’t delivering for your clients you’re heading for disaster.’ Nina Vaca
