United Way of Metropolitan Dallas (UWMD) and the Alexis de Tocqueville Society (AdT) recognized donors on Thursday, May 13th at a private party at the Dallas residence of Myrna and Bob Schlegel.

Alexis de Tocqueville (AdT) members contribute at least $10,000 annually to United Way and belong to a national leadership giving network. In 2003, 443 local area AdT givers generated over $6 million--more than 12 percent--toward UWMD's campaign total of $46.6 million. Funds raised are invested into community programs and partner agencies delivering measurable results and improving lives. UWMD is the largest private funder of health and human services in north Texas.
Notables attending the recognition event: 2004 AdT chair William D. White, Jr. of Locke Liddell & Sapp LLP; honorary chairs, Ebby Halliday Acres and Caroline Rose Hunt; Becky Bright, 2004 UWMD chair of the board; 2004 campaign chair Roger Nanney, managing partner, Deloitte; Scott Yaguchi, Vice President, General Manager, Enterprise Rent-a-Car; Nina G. Vaca, founder and CEO, Pinnacle Technical Resources, Inc.
AdT donors are also invited to participate in other networking opportunities at the UWMD: The Women's Leadership Council, the African American Leadership Society and the Latino Leadership Initiative. The United Way Leadership Giving Societies recognize members of our community who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to helping others. United Way is proud to acknowledge the collective strength of these community leaders whose influence in their own fields, and within United Way, has made a difference in what matters in our communities.
