Pinnacle Technical Resources’ CEO, Nina Vaca, has been named one of the 25 Top Women Business Builders in North America by Fast Company magazine. She was selected from a field of 600 applicants to be included in these first-ever awards.
Each applicant was scored based on revenue, revenue growth, and level and consistency of profits. The magazine culled a group of 52 finalists, and a panel of judges helped choose and rank the final list of 25 winners.
“It's unusual to start a company at age 25. And it's rarer still to turn it into a $30 million powerhouse eight years later,” said Fast Company in explaining Ms. Vaca’s selection as number 19 on their list. “Revenue soared at her IT consulting firm, Pinnacle, which specializes in data warehousing, as the company recruited new clients in telecom and transportation. As her staff grew from 125 to 350 last year, Vaca created a new proprietary IT system called Progata to handle internal communications. It's so successful that Pinnacle will offer Progata to clients later this year.”
When announcing the awards, the magazine stated, “We think these women, and their accomplishments, will inspire you: Each one's story offers lessons--whether it's how to spot a marketable idea, how to distinguish yourself from the competition, how to hire and train the right people, or how to put customers front and center.”
