Pinnacle Honored for Business Excellence

Dallas, TX - For the fourth time in four years, Dallas-based Pinnacle Technical Resources has received an Inner City 100 Awardas one of the nation’s fastest–growing inner city companies. Pinnacle ranked 13th on this year’s list because of its impressive growth between 2002 and 2006. Over 15,000 firms were nominated this year and 486 advanced to the finals.
The 2008 national Inner City 100 were unveiled at the 10th Anniversary Inner City 100 Awards Dinner in Boston on May 1, 2008. Over 1,000 business and civic leaders from across the country were present to celebrate and honor the winning companies for their extraordinary growth and innovative business practices. Accepting Pinnacle’s award were Mike Keiper, Director of Client Delivery and Chris Vaca, Resource Manager.
Founded ten years ago by Initiative for a Competitive Inner City and Inc. Magazine, the Inner City 100 is a program that ranks and publicizes the fastest growing inner city businesses nationwide. Over the years, the list has spotlighted thousands of thriving urban businesses serving regional, national, and international markets; generating valuable new jobs; and making a significant difference in their communities.
To qualify for the Inner City 100 list, companies are required to have at least 51 percent of their operations located in an economically distressed urban area; have at least 10 employees; and have a five-year operating sales history that includes at least six months of sales in the first year of consideration, an increase in year five sales over year four sales, and fifth-year sales of at least $1 million. The specific rankings are based on total revenue growth over the five-year period. An economically distressed urban area is defined by ICIC as having a 50 percent higher unemployment level, 50 percent higher poverty level, and 50 percent lower median income than the metropolitan statistical area.
