Per Diem

The daily living expenses paid to temporary or contract employees for food, lodging, travel, etc. while they are employed at a distant location or during a period while they are relocating. This term can also refer to billing by the day (instead of hourly billing) or shorthand for traveling nurses provided on a daily basis.
