A relatively broad term used to define either (a) enterprise software such as Tableau, Domo, Oracle BI, et al, or (b) the insights gained from the use of these platforms to aggregate, model, and visualize data. Source data within the contingent labor sector is typically collected by the VMS throughout the procure-to-payment life cycle. VMS platforms also typically have business intelligence/reporting capabilities, but nothing capable of competing with the leading BI engines.
